Extended service temperature range and most commonly used for permanent, long term applications. Good resistance to weather, water and U.V. High initial bond strength which proceeds to gain strength over a period of time (typically 3 days to reach maximum bond strength). Suitable for both internal and external applications. Poor resistance to weather, water and U.V. Most commonly used for internal applications, rubber adhesives generally have a higher instant bond strength but lower service temperature range. There are many variants within these master categories each offering different attributes. Pressure sensitive adhesives are divided into three main categories rubber, acrylic and silicone. This encourages the adhesive to ‘wet out’ and achieve maximum bond strength. Pressure sensitive adhesives require pressure to be applied once the tape has been applied correctly.
